Gym Facebook ads

Gym Facebook ads, aimed at your zip code.

We build and run gym Facebook ads and Instagram campaigns for owners across North America. Everything is aimed at people within driving distance of your front door, and every lead lands in follow-up that answers in minutes instead of sitting in a spreadsheet.

This is the traffic half of the job. It only pays off if the other half actually happens, which is why we run both.

No card on the call. No contract. If we're not a fit, we'll say so.

Facebook ads for gyms A room to fill, and someone to answer.

Facebook ads for gyms work best for CrossFit affiliates, HIIT and bootcamp studios, semi-private and personal training gyms, and independent big-box facilities. The common thread is an existing member base and at least one person, whether that's you, a coach or a front desk, who can call a stranger back the same day.

If you're brand new, in a very small town, or have nobody to work the leads, paid traffic isn't your first problem. We'll say that on the call instead of taking the money and reporting a lead count at you. For some gyms the right first move is gym lead follow-up, before a dollar goes into ads.

Meta ads for gyms Six jobs, every month, on your account.

Not "we manage your Meta ads." This is the actual work, in the order it tends to matter. All of it happens inside your own Business Manager with partner access, so the ad account, the pixel, the audiences and the ad history stay yours whatever happens.

Decide what the ad asks for

The offer is the campaign. Before anything is built we settle what a stranger is being asked to do, whether that's a no-sweat intro, a trial week or a paid starter block, and what happens the moment they say yes. We push toward offers that attract people who intend to stay; see our guide to gym intro offers.

Draw the radius, then defend it

We target a drive you'd actually accept, not a 50-mile blanket, and exclude the places your members never come from. Interest layers stay deliberately loose because Meta's delivery finds the buyers, but the geography stays tight. Your existing member list is excluded so you stop paying to reach people who already train with you.

Make the creative

Most gym ads fail in the first two seconds of video, not in the targeting. You get a short shot list to film on a phone in one session, and we cut it into vertical ads with captions, hooks and several variants per idea: coach-to-camera, members with consent, the room itself. A running library means the account never runs dry.

Route the lead somewhere sane

Instant forms inside Facebook are cheap and noisy. A landing page costs more per lead and usually converts better. We pick per campaign, and often run both against each other. Either way the lead is pushed into your CRM in seconds and triggers the first text, because a lead nobody contacts is just a line in a report.

Manage budget and testing

We build a structure that gives Meta enough conversions to leave the learning phase, which Meta puts at roughly 50 optimization events a week per ad set, so a small budget isn't split across nine audiences. Every week: kill what's dead, scale what isn't, rotate creative before fatigue sets in.

Track it through to membership

Pixel and Conversions API set up properly, events named the same way every time, and a lead source stamped on every record, so we can tell you which ad produced a member and which produced a tire-kicker. Cost per lead is the vanity number. Cost per member still paying in month three is the one we report.

Gym Facebook advertising Kickoff to steady state.

Campaigns are usually live within days of kickoff, not weeks. Nothing switches on until the follow-up has been tested with a real phone, because a live ad feeding a dead inbox is the fastest way to waste a budget. The whole engagement follows the same gym marketing process we run for every client.

  1. Kickoff call and access

Your numbers: members, pricing, what an intro looks like, who answers the phone, what you've tried. Then partner access to your Business Manager and an audit of whatever ran before.

  2. Build week

Offer written, audiences and exclusions built, tracking wired, first creative batch cut from your shot list, landing page or form built, and follow-up connected so the first message fires instantly.

  3. Launch and learning

Campaigns go live and we leave them alone long enough to gather data. Reacting to day two is the most common way a gym account gets broken. We watch lead quality daily.

  4. Weekly optimization

New creative in, tired creative out, budget moved toward whatever produces booked intros. We read the text threads too, because the fix is often in the follow-up, not the ad.

  5. Monthly review against membership

Spend, leads, booked intros, shows, sign-ups and, from month three, how many new members are still paying. That last number decides what we do next.

Instagram ads for gyms Honest timelines, the ugly middle included.

We don't promise a number of members. Cost per lead swings with your city, your offer, the season and how fast your team calls back. What follows is the shape of a normal account on Facebook and Instagram, not a guarantee, and we'll show you the real numbers every month.

Week one

Live, and the first intros booked.

Ads live, leads arriving, first intros on the calendar. Some gyms sign members in week one. Josh at CrossFit Prior Lake signed six PT clients and five members in his, but treat that as a good week, not the baseline.

Weeks two to six

The noisy part.

Cost per lead moves around while creative and audiences sort themselves out, and your show rate becomes the number that matters most. This is where owners who expected a straight line tend to give up on an account too early.

Month three onward

Cost per member, not per lead.

Enough history to talk about cost per member, and the first honest read on whether the people we brought in are sticking. Once gyms are running, 5 to 15 new members a month is typical. Typical ranges, not guarantees.

Two things break this faster than anything in the ad account: leads that wait hours for a reply, and an intro that never asks for the sale. Both are fixable, and both are covered by gym membership sign-ups.

What it costs Two numbers. One starts free.

There's a management fee, which you pay us, and there's ad spend, which you pay Meta directly from your own account. We never mark spend up and never hold your ad account hostage. After the free first month, the fee depends on what we run for your gym, and we'll give you straight figures for both on the call.

Gym Facebook ads FAQ Gym Facebook ads, answered.

The questions owners ask most before they hand over an ad account. Anything not covered here, ask Vincent on the call, or read the full gym marketing FAQ.

Do Facebook ads still work for gyms?

Yes, and the reason is boring: it's still the cheapest way to put a local offer in front of people who weren't looking for a gym today. What has changed is that cheap leads are easier to get than good ones, so the money now lives in the offer, the creative and the speed of follow-up rather than in clever targeting.

Who pays for the ad spend?

You do, directly to Meta from your own ad account, on your own card. We work inside your Business Manager with partner access. If we part ways, the account, the pixel, the audiences and the ad history stay with you.

How much should I spend on gym Facebook ads?

It depends on your market size and how many intros you can actually run in a week, so we give you a number on the call rather than publish one that would be wrong for half the gyms reading this. The failure we see most is a budget spread so thin across so many ad sets that Meta never gets enough data to optimize anything.

Do I have to be on camera?

It helps a lot, but no. Coach-led footage, member stories with permission, and straight footage of classes running all work. We give you a shot list and you film it on a phone. If you genuinely won't appear, we build around your members and the room.

Will you run a six-week challenge?

Only if it fits your gym, and never as the default. Challenge funnels fill a room quickly and empty it just as quickly, which looks great in a month-one report and bad in month six. We'd rather sell your actual intro and keep the people it brings in.

My ad account got restricted. Can you help?

Usually. Fitness advertising trips Meta's health and personal-attributes rules more than most categories, and before-and-after images and body-shaming language are the usual culprits. We write and design to stay inside the policy, and we'll look at an existing restriction with you on the call before promising anything.

Let's see if paid traffic is your bottleneck.

Thirty minutes on your membership numbers, your current spend and your follow-up. If Facebook ads aren't what's holding your gym back, we'll tell you what is.
